Rimmel Camouflage

I think I finally found my perfect green. Well, ok, maybe not yet. Camouflage is too light, it looks darker than it actually is in the picture. But the balance between yellow and blue is good. It's a very pretty emerald shimmer, I would say.



As usual, two coats, base and top coat. The polish itself was really easy to apply. Smooth. I found it a tiny bit thick, but that could just be because it was a quick dry polish. And it does indeed dry within 60 seconds, but I didn't exactly time it. It was dry so that I could put on the second coat, but it's the type of dry that if you accidentally hit something, the whole layer just kinda ripped off. Does that even make sense? Anyhow, the only thing I didn't like about this polish was the brush. I'm not sure if it was just mine, but the brush was really cheap. I had random bristles sticking up all over the place. This made application unpredictable because you weren't really sure where the polish would end up. I needed a lot of clean up.

wet n wild Rustic

So I grabbed a bottle of wet n wild. This is from the Craze collection. I never had much respect for the brand, but the bottle was cute and I love the colour.


Seriously, look at it. It's short and round. Adorable.

Anyhow, here is the finished product:



I really love the rich bronze colour. Looks like bronze shimmer in brown polish. Great dimension. A fantastic colour for fall, I think. The polish went on nice and smooth. This is two coats with base and top coat. All in all, I love this polish. It has changed my mind on affordable polish. The only issue I had with it was the fact that from the top of the lid to the tip of the brush, it's short. Like, really short. The large lid coupled with the short brush made application a little bit of a pain. Not a huge deal, just something that I noticed.

Sephora by OPI I'm With Brad

This is one of those colours that I picked up and could not put down. I literally felt pain when I even considered the idea of not buying it. It was $12, the most expensive polish I own, one heck of a lot when you're jobless. But again, pain at the idea of not getting it.

It's a black nail polish with very fine red shimmer. Or a very very dark red. Absolutely love this colour. Despite how dark it is, even indoors at night, you can tell it has a red soul and doesn't look completely black.

This is two coats with base coat and top coat. It went on a bit thick, and the brush is smaller than normal OPI brushes. But overall, the application was good. All the mistakes are my own. Sorry about photo quality though. I suck with a camera.

Edit 1/6/2010: Since I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I went back and redid the swatch for this. Still two coats but no top coat this time around.
