L.A. Girl Color Addict Intoxicate

Intoxicate is intoxicating. Yeah, I know, cheesy. Hahaha. But Intoxicate is a gorgeous dark eggplant purple packed with gold shimmer. Gold shimmer that actually shows up when it's on the nail. You can see it even better in real life than the pic. I love this. Love, love, love.

Two coats with topcoat. Amazing application. Just about perfect at one coat. Easy and smooth. Win.

If you're in Canada, I got this at Fairweather for $3.99. It looks like this collection is all about gold shimmer because every one of the polishes are packed with gold shimmer. I picked up Disorder, Hypnotic, Idol and of course Intoxicate.

Want of the Moment: I want these boots. I want these boots ever so bad. But I can't buy them for three big reasons. 1) I just bought a pair of winter boots. 2) They're $160 3) They're sold out in my size. Oh but do I ever want them. *Buyers agony* Hahaha. I tried them on in the store. It's like you're walking on pillows. *Grabby hands* These boots have become my obsession.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Catherine

Catherine is a muted eggplant shimmer. Lol, StBFF was not a fan. I think her issue was that it was dark and didn't look unique at all, like every dark purple out there. I was in a dark phase so I was happy with it. Click on the pic to see higher res to check out the sweet blue and purple shimmer.

Two coats with top coat. I had patchiness, which was very surprising considering it was an RBL. It might have been because I didn't bother to wait between coats. But I almost never do and rarely have issues. I am disappoint.

Blog Business: As some of you may have noticed, I went and mobilized my blog. If you're viewing this on a phone, it should auto-detect and show you the mobile version instead of the regular version. If it doesn't work, please let me know. And if you have any feedback regarding the mobile version, feel free to leave a comment. I've got a super old talk and text phone so I don't really know what it's like to read on anything but my desktop. The only reason that I've gone mobile is because StBFF complained. Psh, that girl, always causing me grief.

Pimp Out of the Moment: Alright, so those of you who have read regularly know I absolutely love this blog. And you also know that I rarely do shout outs unless I absolutely love it and adore it and must share. Even rarer is something that qualifies for the multiple mentions category. As far as I can remember, StBFF and Mandy's Chocolate & Cream Cake blog are the only ones that fall under that category. So I just want to tell you about Mandy's A Few of Our Favourite Things Giveaway. Seriously funsy giveaway. Please go check it and her blog out.

Now the Pic of the Moment. Here are the two tshirts I want to win from the giveaway. Totally yoinked these from the threadless.com site.

I don't really have a first or second choice between the two of these, but I figured I'd pick two because one looks like it's just about to be sold out in my size.

Zoya Edyta

Edyta is mostly green with lots of gold foil particles with a bit of that greyed quality that makes it mossy. I likes, I likes very very much. This pic makes the polish look much darker than it really is. I'm been having issues. I'm in a photography rut. Just pics not turning out how I want.

Two coats with topcoat. Completely flawless application, although cleanup was a bitch. I kept getting glitter everywhere. You can see along the cuticle on my ring finger where I tried to clean it up and all that's left there is gold glitter. They're persistent little buggers. I don't look forward to removal. Mind you, if this lasts like most Zoyas, I won't have to think about removal for a while.

Pic of the Moment: Check out my sweet Cammo Kitty tshirt. Military influence + Hello Kitty = Winsomeness on a grand scale.

Alright, so I know at least one of my old Military Museums coworkers reads this blog. I shall take some time and explain my Hello Kitty obsession while I worked there. I'm not actually as fanatical a Hello Kitty fan as I was at the Military Museums. Don't get me wrong, I love Hello Kitty. I think she's as cute as all get out. And when your best friend happens to be StBFF, who is absolutely fanatical about Hello Kitty, it rubs off.

But yes, back to the explanation. While I was working there, I was surrounded by men. Like, manly men, military men, machoness, testosterone and like GRRR!ness. Hahaha. So I felt a need to just infuse the place with femininity. And my way of doing that was to plaster over my locker door with Hello Kitty, walking around wearing pink and Hello Kitty tshirts. I also love cats, but I love dogs just as much, I don't think that showed through though because there was just so much Hello Kitty all over the place. I just felt the need to explain. I don't think anyone really cares, but eh, that won't stop me. Hahaha.

Frilly Lilly Prosperous

Happy Chinese/Lunar New Year!! Last year I got a chance to review Frilly Lilly Prosperous. But I didn't do the application so I couldn't say anything about it. I finally put it on myself so here's my full review.

As I said last year, Prosperous is the perfect CNY mani. And it's called Prosperous, there is nothing more CNY than that name. Too awesome. This is a blue-based red with gold shimmer. The gold shimmer doesn't show up but it does lend a warmth to the red. Making it an almost bricky red in lower lights. It never crosses into the land of warm, but it does have a nice depth. Anyhow, here's the pic. I swear, my middle finger does not like the polish. I just keep smudging it. Although this time isn't as bad as last time.

Two coats with topcoat. Applied very smooth and even without issues. Thin brush that fans at the end a little like Rescue Beauty Lounge brushes.

Pic of the Moment: I present to you pan-fried dumplings, aka potstickers, aka gyoza. Oh so very good. I like to dip them in a mixture of sushi vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame oil. I know, it's odd, but so good.

Now have a pic of the moment bonus song. When I'm having a bad day, feel stressed, need a pick-me-up or just want to relax, I listen to this song. I love it. So soothing, but with good energy at the same time. Please enjoy.
